Quick Start Checklist

The five things to do in your first 15 minutes on Domara.

Here's the fastest path to getting fully set up. Most landlords complete these five steps in under 15 minutes.

Your checklist

1. Add your property

Go to Properties and click Add Property. Enter the address and basic details.

2. Create your units

From the property page, add each unit with its rent amount. Even a single-family house needs one unit.

3. Invite your tenants

Go to Tenants, click Add Tenant, and enter their email. They'll get an invite to create their account.

4. Connect Stripe

Go to Settings and connect your Stripe account so tenants can pay you online.

5. Create your first lease

Go to Leases, click New Lease, and use the AI drafter to generate a state-specific lease. Send it to your tenant for e-signature.

What happens next

Once these five steps are done, your tenants can pay rent, submit maintenance requests, and access their documents. Domara will track everything automatically — you'll see payment status on your dashboard, get notified of maintenance requests, and have your bookkeeping updated in real time.

Optional next steps

  • Add expenses in Bookkeeping to start tracking your operating costs
  • Configure late fees in Settings if you want automatic late fee charges
  • List a vacancy if you have an empty unit to fill
