Reviewing Applications

How to view, approve, or decline rental applications.

When renters apply for your listing, their applications appear on the Listings page. You can review their information and make a decision.

What's in an application

Each application includes:

  • Applicant info — name, contact details, current address
  • Employment — employer, job title, income
  • Move-in date — when they want to start
  • Personal statement — why they're interested in the unit
  • References — if provided

Reviewing and responding

  1. Go to Listings and click on the listing with applications
  2. Review each application
  3. Choose to Approve or Decline
  4. Approved applicants can be invited as tenants

Tips

  • Respond promptly — good renters are applying to multiple places. If you wait too long, they'll go elsewhere.
  • Fair housing — make sure your criteria are consistent and don't discriminate based on protected classes
